He recognizes that Moses is overburdened and that the people are underserved due to long waits and limited access. Jethro’s insight is simple yet transformative: “What you are doing is not good… you will surely wear yourself out.”
This moment reveals a key truth about leadership: good intentions are not enough. Even a godly and capable leader like Moses can fall into the trap of trying to do everything alone. Jethro outlines a clear structure for delegation. He instructs Moses to select capable, trustworthy men who fear God and hate dishonest gain.
